Our story
Café Werrmann since 1927
It all started with just an ice cream cart that Jakob Werrmann, as a young man, drove through the Gülser Stoßen district, and a small kiosk in the Rhine park. This was followed by a breakfast room at Münzplatz, then an ice cream parlor at Altlöhrtor, and finally the first proper café on upper Löhrstraße, run by Jakob and Erika Werrmann. After its destruction in World War II and subsequent reconstruction, Café Werrmann moved to Münzplatz in 1954, where it remains to this day. In 1974, their son, master confectioner Harald Werrmann, took over the business, and ten years later his wife Birgit joined him. Together, they undertook several renovations and remodeling projects, significantly expanding the product range and menu. Since 2013, Café Werrmann has been managed by Bianca Werrmann.
